Henry Ford was not the inventor of the automobile, but he was a pioneer of mass production, revolutionizing industry in every field through his use of many new business techniques, the most significant including the moving assembly line and high wages. His innovations in production and business techniques spread and were built upon in his company. His legacy included his founding and leading of the Ford Motor Company which still exists today, the use of mass production, and the hiring of low-skilled workers with high wages. If it was not for him, the US would not have had the means of production to create enough weapons for World War I and II, cars would not be affordable and abundant enough for the average man to have one, and America might not have the thriving consumerist middle class that he laid the foundation for.
